	The cost effectiveness of EcoSand Soil Amendment was demonstrated in a greenhouse research project growing tomatoes and green peppers.
	EcoSand showed significant value in these areas: Reduced fertilizer usage Improved yield Reduced water consumption Increased phosphorous availability Increased available potassium Improved yields from EcoSand Soil Amendment are summarized in the following table: In the greenhouse research study, EcoSand mixtures reduced nitrogen use in the root zone by 25% versus the control, increased phosphorous utilization and availability by 89%, and provided biologically available potassium from within its zeolite structure (92% versus the control). The table below shows an overview of fertilizer utilization in the pepper and tomato tests. Higher yields of both peppers and tomatoes were achieved with less fertilization when EcoSand Soil Amendment was added to potting soil mediums of peat, sand, or peat and sand. This is because by weight, EcoSand has 10 times the CEC of peat and 75 times the CEC of the organics in a typical sand. This research clearly illustrates that root zone soils with the highest CEC are the same ones that provide the highest yield and the healthiest growth environment. The highest yields were obtained when sand was completely replaced with EcoSand. EcoSand Soil Amendment provides permanent CEC in the root zone, a claim that no organic soil conditioning agent can make. A root zone properly amended with EcoSand has a high percentage of biologically available calcium, thus sodium is flushed and a fertile growing environment is maintained.
